Skilled Hands Make a Stronger Rockwall
The heart of the Rockwall Education Foundation’s mission is simple: provide opportunities that might not otherwise exist for RISD students and step in when there is a gap in resources. In 2021, we recognized a clear need of scholarship offerings for graduates pursuing a career in skilled trades. By supporting those students, we are not only investing in them, but also into the strength and growth of our community.

FUNDING THE FUTURE OF CRAFTSMANSHIP
The Scott Self Memorial Scholarship
Through the insight and generosity of the Self family, the Scott Self Memorial Scholarship was created. Since its launch, the program has made a meaningful impact, helping students pursue trade schools and technical programs with confidence. One recipient even returned to Rockwall to open a business in their hometown, a full-circle outcome that reflects the purpose of the scholarship itself.
